WHO WE ARE…
Allen County Visionaries, Inc. was formed in the summer of 1993 as the private sector partner in our region’s economic development activities.
It’s membership consists of individuals and businesses who share a deep concern for the economic health of our community. We hope that this brochure will answer most of your questions regarding The Allen County Visionaries and that you will see a benefit in becoming a member.
Economic Development Partnership in Allen County
In Allen County the political and business leadership jointly determined that the responsibility for economic development belonged to both the public and private sectors of our community. The county and most of the municipalities provide 50 percent of the financing, and the private sector, through the membership in the Visionaries, provides the other 50 percent.
Economic development services are performed by the Allen Economic Development Group (AEDG). The services are provided under a contractual agreement between the AEDG and the public and private partners.
Accountability
The public/private partnership approach to economic development will ensure accountability, cooperation, and communication.
Each partner, including Allen County Visionaries, Inc. will have a financial stake in the enterprise through their contracts with the AEDG.
Regular written communications will be given to the partners (including the members of the Visionaries). The contracts will be voidable if the partner is not satisfied with the results.
